Alagar kovil is a village in Madurai district in the South Indian state of Tamilnadu. The history and living of the village is centered around Kallazhar Temple. Constructed in the Dravidan style of architecture., the temple is glorified in the Divya prabhandha, the early medieval tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Kallazhagar and his consort Lakshmi as Thirumamagal. Kallazhagar temple covers an area of about 2 acres (0.81 hectares) and has a five-tiered gopuram (gateway tower). The temple in enclosed in a rectangular enclosure with huge granite walls. The central shrine houses the image of the presiding deity, Sundarabahu Perumal in standing posture. The images of Sridevi and Bhudevi are also housed in the sanctum. Karkuvel Ayyanar Karkuvel Ayyanar is a regional Tamil male deity who is popular in South India, particularly Tamil Nadu. Sri Karkuvel ayyanar temple is located in a village named Therikudiyiruppu in Kayamozhi, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This temple is only 14 kilometer from Thiruchendur. This Month i will be writing  about shivaratri  special. Sorimuthu Ayyanar Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Sastha located in Karaiyar near Papanasam in Thirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. Mahabalipuram lies on the Coromandel Coast which faces the Bay of Bengal. This is an elegant place to watch which a well established sea port was during the 7th to 10th centuries of the Pallava dynasty. This was the second capital of the Pallavas who ruled Kanchipuram. Formerly, mahabalipuram was known and called as  Mamallapuram . The former name of this place ‘Mahabalipuram’ has a history.         It was during the reign of King Narasimhavarman I(630 - 668 AD), the name Mahabalipuram was changed. It was renamed mahabalipuram which is called till now. There is a story behind. The name Mamallapuram king Narasimhavarman I was a great and valiant warrior.
