Karkuvel Ayyanar is a regional Tamil male deity who is popular in South India, particularly Tamil Nadu. Sri Karkuvel ayyanar temple is located in a village named Therikudiyiruppu in Kayamozhi, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. This temple is only 14 kilometer from Thiruchendur. Sri Karkuvel ayyanar temple is about 500–1000 years old.The main festival in Karkuvel Ayyanar Temple "Kallar Vettu". Many lakhs people gather here on this festival. It is surrounded by Red sand.

So the king protected the mango tree with several security guards. In that village there lived a pious widow. She used to daily take water for her use daily morning. One day the mango which had fallen in the previous night went in to her water pot and she carried it home without knowing. Next day morning the security guardsstarted searching for the fruit.
